Hello PBC Day Camp & Sierra Sleep-Away Families,

We are reaching out with sincerity and gratitude to share that we will no longer be operating our summer camp programs, Peninsula Bay Cities Day Camp and Sierra Sleep-Away.

Preparing for two distinct summer camp programs requires months of intensive planning, staffing, and organization. In recent years, additional regulations, increasing operational costs, and other factors have made it even more challenging. After more than 30 years of operating summer camp programs, we have decided to take a step back from these demands and shift our focus. While we will not be operating our summer programs, we remain committed to our mission of enriching the lives of children as we continue our work and focus on our After-School Camp programs.

We are truly honored to have operated Peninsula Bay Cities Day Camp & Swim School since 1995. For three decades, we have had the joy of watching children and staff grow, build confidence, learn new skills, and have fun! We are especially proud that our hallmark has been teaching countless children the life-saving skill of swimming and we will always cherish our legacy of teaching “Activity with Direction.”

Likewise, for more than 30 years, we have also been honored and privileged to carry on over a half century of tradition for Sierra Sleep-Away at Bass Lake. This past summer marked 55 years for a program that has been more than just an ordinary summer camp vacation for children. It has been a home, a place of growth, friendship, laughter, and the kind of magic that only summer camp can bring. Over the years, children came seeking adventure, learning watersports, finding courage, discovering the beauty of connecting with nature, and building lifelong friendships. Watching shy campers arrive only to return home as bold, confident individuals has always been among our greatest rewards.

Through the decades, thousands of children and staff have benefitted from these programs; learning valuable life skills, gaining confidence, being active, enjoying the outdoors, reaching beyond their comfort zones, and discovering what it means to be a friend; It is the dedicated staff, many of whom were campers themselves, returning each summer to pass along the same passion, lifelong memories, and sense of community to a new generation. It is the connections, the experiences, and the people we will miss the most.

Lastly, thank you. Thank you for the friendships, laughter, tears, courage, joy, and above all, thank you for entrusting us with your children and your hearts. The memories we created together will live on forever.

Camp Referrals

We are happy to refer families to other accredited camp programs that we know and respect. Our goal is for every PBC and Sierra camper to continue to have a place where they can grow, explore, and belong.

We encourage you to explore camps through the following organizations:

We have been proud members of both of these organizations.
